Japan Back to Start Page

Japan, since decades the most innovative and groundbreaking regarding filmmaking, games, comics and animation. With old masters as Ozu, Mizoguchi,
Shimamura and Akira Kurosawa but also with new generations of talents, as Shinya Tsukamoto, Kiyoshi Kurosawa, Takashi Miike, Toshiaki Toyoda,
Shunji Iwai or an anime master like Hayao Miyazaki. Innovative crime-thrillers, horror, drama, comedy, teenage angst and funny trash exploitation has led
to countless western re-makes. An explosion of creativity took place especially during the late 1990's and the beginning of the new millennia.
