Welcome to some korean indie rock bands - probably the least visited web page ever. I wrote most of this stuff some 20 years ago


Besides KPop, heavy metal and rap (the usual stuff) South Korea also have some really cool indie music: alt.rock - punk
and progressive. There's the exquisite Jaurim fronted by the lovely singer Kim Yoon-ah. Indie rock, that's my thing, so
here are some bands i heard randomly and liked - 1. Jaurim, 2. Cherry Filter, 3. Rainy Sun and the K-Popper BoA.
Later i heard progressive band UhUhBoo Project in Park Chan-wook's masterpiece Night Fishing and was enthralled.
I once, in an attack of delirious optimism, added this page to my swedish webshop and also had these records for sale
but soon found out that i most probably was the only one in Sweden with any interest in Korean indie rock.
KPop Yes, i sold some BoA records, but indie No. I haven't followed this indie scene for a decade now, so it's old stuff

BoA - The former South Korean Princess of pop, nowadays the Queen of K Pop

And then .... what else, there's also the commercial top of charts stuff and here's South Korea the dominating power in the region
with it's K-Pop. BoA or Gwen Bo-a/Kwon Boa (born 1986) is or was very popular not just in Korea but also in Japan and
in some other places (as Thailand). She was cute as any young Britney Spears type of idol But with a really GREAT voice also.
In 2002 when i made this page i predicted that BoA would conquer the world. Well, that didn't happen but she has released in
records in Japan and USA and also appeared in Korean TV, in some films i.a. the very entertaining action comedy Big Match.
When writing this she's 29 years old and a celebrity and the Queen of, the stateswoman of K-Pop
