For all lovers of Hong Kong and Jacke Chan's movies his Police
Story 1-3 is a neccessity to have in your film collection.
This is a great and fun action film with some wild stunts as Jackie hanging
from the helicopter during the crazy ride in
the air through Kuala Lumpur and the scenes atop of the train, with Michelle
jumping aboard driving a motorcycle.
Jackie is a great guy and generously lets Michelle Yeoh shine
in her part, and she really makes an impact and almost
steal the film away from Jackie in her role as Mainland China officer Yang.
This is my favourite film with Michelle Yeoh
The old Hong Kong Mega Star DVD edition. Probably presented in
the
then standard letterbox format with something of a 1.77:1 - 1.85:1 ratio. Slightly
chopped up usually. Cantonese 5.1
Interpol and the Hong Kong Police has a problem
with drug traficking and the leader of the gang, Chaibat, has to be stopped.
A Super Cop is needed and just who could that be if not Chen Chia-Chu (Chan)
and in a joint mission with mainland China
he's sent to a training camp under the supervision of the Chinese officer Yang
(Yeoh).
Chen's girlfriend (in all first 3 films in the series) is Maggie Cheung's May
and she's happy that Chen has been chosen to be
the Super Cop, but she doesn't know that he's been assigned to a dangerous special
mission under the alias Lin Fu-Sheng.
He's sent to a Chinese prison camp as a prisoner and where he's about to befriend
and infiltrate Chaibat's gang.
Some great scenes from mainland China, not that common then
(in 1992), where Chen goes with Chaibat's gang and Yeoh
plays his sister Hua, and Michelle gets to shine in some scenes taking place
in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, her homeland.
