Ringo Lam (born in 1955)
was the crime-thriller master in Hong Kong during the second half of the 1980's
and some years into the 1990's
with some amazing and visually impressive films as Full Contact. That was
when the Golden Era of filmmaking
was happening, approx. 1983-1993. The Master of Hong Kong Noir and intense
crime ....
But, in the 1990's he left for Hollywood B movie quagmire making bad films
with Jean Claude Van Damme
- and he never found his groove again even though he returned to Hong
Kong in the 2010's and has made some
new films. Sure, i actually do like Van Damme movies but would've preferred
seing Lam doing HK films
