Hong Kong DVD
Very different and uniquely Miyazaki from the
great anime director master, about Italy and the Adriatic Sea
sometimes during the 1920's. Our hero's the ex-italian battle pilot Marco
(Porco) Rosso, now an international
adventurer refusing to do duty under Mussolini's fascist forces. He fights
air-pirates, competes with american
ace-pilot Curtis and has got an admirer in the Femme fatale, nightclub singer
Gina. For some reason i didn't get
why Marco has been transformed into an actual Pig. Amazing flight scenes and
great shots of the Milano industrial
milieus. This may be Miyazaki's homage to the between the wars time spy and
adventure films, and it is guarantee
completely different and fascinating stuff and almost enigmatic. Hayao Miyazaki
- one of the greatest film geniuses
