The Last Masterpiece of Horror from Dario Argento
finally in 4K UHD.

A horror giallo about the ill fated performance of the Giuseppe Verdi opera MacBeth, an opera
that supposedly bring bad luck on everyone who tries to perform it. In Dario's Opera a giallo
stalker looks to that bad luck strikes again and again using knives and a gun.

Dario Argento is an animal lover and cleverly uses the BEAUTIFUL black crows in one of the
main roles. The first seconds of the Intro credits are brilliant. Cinematic genius brilliant, with a
gorgeous crow in the foreground and an opera singer in the background. The crow mimics
the singer's singing with it's own Caws.

The crows, with an intelligence matching a 7 year old child, are used by this films sleuth (Ian
Charleson) to solve the murder mystery and reveal the perp.
The FX scene where Daria Nicolodi takes a peep through the door-eye is sensational with
the close-up of the bullet and the slow motion scene. Nicolodi says that Dario tried to kill her
using the explosive adherered to her head, a joke ?

One of my favourite Argento movies and even though the acting may lack some brilliance
the film still showcases an overload of cinematic beauty. The Crows, the camera, the music.
Christina Marsillach, playing the young understudy, get's the chance of her career when
the star soprano mysteriously is run over by a car, and she will perform the role of Lady
Macbeth in Verdi's opera.
But she has an unwanted admirer, a psychopathic killer. Whodunit. Could the answer be
found in her dreams or could the crows somehow know it ?
