R.I.P. Sushant Singh Rajput

A Big Budget Crime Story with a Nice Retro look and photographed by Nikos Andritsakis, based on the
popular noirish stories from bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The first story appeared in 1932.
It's made on a Huge budget and it looks very Slick and nice, with yet again some impressive sets and CGI.
As in Anurag Kashyaps Bombay Velvet the street scene from WW2 Calcutta with signs, trams and people
look especially nice and i really couldn't tell that it was made mostly in CGI/VFX.
But it's not suspenseful, more of an all-family mainstream crime mystery-adventure

It's 1942 and the Brits are in command even though the Japanese army is standing at the borders, and is
bombing Calcutta in nightly air raids. The university student (and maybe soon to be teacher?) Byomkesh
Bakshy (Sushant Singh Rajput) is approached by an Ajit Banerjee (Anand Tiwari) who asks him to help
him finding his disappeared father Mr. Bhuvan, and soon Detective BB is on the case.
Ajit that became something of a Dr. Watson to BB in the book series, a buddy crime solving assistant.

Mr. Bhuvan worked as a chemist in a factory owned by Gajanan Sikdar (Kaushik Ghosh) and may be
involved with the criminal Yang Guang and the theft of a lot of cocaine from a Shanghai Drug Gang.
There's the mysterious Femme Fatale Burmese moviestar Anguri (played by bengali actress Swastika
Mukherjee
.... that's a name you won't forget easily) Gajanans mistress, there's the niece Satywati (Divya
Menon) and nephew Sukumar (Shubham) and there's the Evil genius of Dr. Guha (Neeraj Kabi).
Why was Mr. Bhuvan killed and what is the plan of the criminals?
