Chasing the Dragon (Chui lung, 2017)

US Well Go USA Blu-ray edition - Region A; DVD edition region 1

A pretty good crime Action to be a Wong Jing film and taking place in the 1960's
and depicts the gangsters fighting over their Hong Kong turfs.

It's interesting to see how the times are a-changin' in how the British are shown
in this 2017 film compared to the 1980's Hong Kong films. In this film they are
corrupted and ruthless gangsters out to rob the Crown Colony of what they
can get and in the 1980's they were shown as jovial and stand-up officials.

There are the mainland drug kingping Crippled Ho (Donnie Yen) working from
the Walled City of Kowloon, the police detective and crime lord Lee Rock (Andy
Lau) and there are the rotten gangster Brits who rules them all.

The Kowloon walled city is CGI created (as this legendary city has been torn
down) and the chase through narrow alleys surely must be an homage to the
1984 crime action masterpiece "Long Arm of the Law" by Johnny Mak.
Also the old airport infamous for the planes landing dangerously close to the
roofs in CGI.

Yes, and for sure, adding to the Hong Kong Golden Era nostalgia, slightly
overweight people are called Piggy or Chubby, and people wearing eyeglasses
are called Foureyes. Films title referring to a shot of narcotics.
Hong Kong was a sewer of crime and corruption in the 1960's ... until an Anti-
Corruption Bureau was set up by the authorities to drain the swamp and the
cockroaches started running.

Film presented in 16:9 anamorphic widescreen with cantonese audio (or english
dub) DTS-HD MA 5.1, Trailer, trailers other films
The Blu-ray plays REGION ALL even though region A is stated on the sleeve
