R.I.P. Jane Birkin 14/12 - 16/7 2023

An old german DVD edition but I really wanted to see this one, and as I don't
want to watch streams if I can avoid it, this old edition had to do. And, there
are NO english subtitles. This is the 123 minutes french version of the film

This film may be slow but it's a very good drama and crime thriller where the
tensions are slowly building. The swimmingpool is at the center of the story.

I loved Jane Birkin as a singer and as an actress in arty french movies

A lovers couple, Marianne (Romy Schneider) and Jean-Paul (Alain Delon)
are relaxing at her elegant villa on the french riviera, and they especially
enjoy using the swimmingpool. For some reason Marianne's ex-boyfriend
Harry (Maurice Ronet) is invited to stay the weekend, and he brings along
his shy teenage daughter Penelope (Jane Birkin).

Something that ultimately will lead to High Tension when Jean-Paul can't
stay away from the sugar. His inner predator breaks loose and he decides
to seduce the awkward young girl, something that will lead to murder.
