Nice, a three-disc US Blu-ray release in region all of some more of
the forgotten and really obscure gialli that still remained to be released
.
Two spanish and one italian. Perhaps León Klimovsky's 1978 "Violacion
Fatal" (Trauma) was the most eagerly awaited one of these three
as it was the last film Klimovsky directed, but i actually enjoyed the
other two more. All of them are strictly B-Gialli and that's OK with
me
as i love the more strange efforts in the genre, and also the top level
gialli has long since been released on plethora of DVD and Blurays.

Disc 1: Trauma (Violacion Fatal, 1978) Direction: León Klimovsky
Late Spanish giallo or an early Slasher about a madrilenean
writer who, driving by car in the countryside, finds an idyllic looking
Hotel
situated at a lake. An attractive morena, Veronica (Agata Lys) attends
it and she says her husband is handicapped and can't move.
The man, Daniel (Heinrich "Henry" Gregor) plans to stay for
a while and to write on his new book, and without telling his wife Elena
(Sandra
Alberti) in Madrid. Daniel is the only guest with the exception of a
pair of mountain climbers, Anna (Irene Foster) and her boyfriend
(Antonio Mayans) who seeks shelter. Everything would be cool if not
Veronica behaved strangely and was annoyed by the guests, and
soon a black-gloved killer with a razor starts roaming around.
Gore and boobs, all women in the film show their boobs,
but still not a very good film as the "Twist" wasn't really
a twist and the viewers
knew it immediately (after one second when Daniel arrived to the hotel).
The film is presented in widescreen 1.85:1 and with spanish audio DTS-HD
MA 2.0 or DD 2.0 with english subtitles, region all.

Disc 2: The Killer is One of Thirteen
(El asesino está entre los trece, 1973) Direction and co-script:
Javier Aguirre
Lots and lots of Spanish actors in this film (as the
title says) and i liked it ! Not very violent and little of boobs and
gore .... but more of an
old time Who-Dun-It giallo when a group of people are invited to a mansion
out in the countryside by widow Lisa Mandel (Patty
Shepard)

Lisa's husband died in a plane crash two years earlier
and she's convinced that one or more of her guests are responsible for
the accident.
Lisa lives in her remote mansion with her aunt (Trini Alonso), her perv
cousin (Eusebio Poncela), her maid, servant (Paul Naschy in a small
role) and the butler Henry (Ramiro Oliveros). Lisa has gathered 13 people
at the dinner table, i.a. Simón Andreau's playboy Harry Stephen,
future famous spanish actress Carmen Maura as Mrs. Gill, Eduardo Calvo
as Mr. Gill, Jack Taylor as Harlan and Alberto Fernández as Jorge.
Lisa starts throwing dirt on everyone present. Secrets
are to be told in the night and secret meetings to be hold, and the
Giallo killer starts
his/hers work. Stabbing in the chest, axe in the head, strangling, needle
in shower, car crash etc.
Old time murder mystery and i liked it,
and with fine spanish actors. Say hello to the filmcrew,
can be seen in a mirror at 31 minutes.
The film is presented in widescreen 1.85:1 and with
spanish audio DTS-HD MA 2.0 with english subtitles, region all.

Disc 3: The Police are Blundering in the Dark
(La polizia brancola nel buio, 1975 Direction: Helia Colombo
Aaah, Yes ! A very obscure B-giallo indeed and i hadn't
heard of the one-time only feature film director or of the actors, but
the film was
delightfully strange and also with lots of nudity, always a plus. The
unique giallo story goes like this: Photo models are killed by a slasher
maniac.
A beautiful blonde model, Erica or Enrichetta (Margaret
Rose Keil) has car trouble and stranded in the rain she takes refuge
in a bar and Inn close
by. She calls her ex-boyfriend Giorgio (Joseph Arkim) for help but he's
occupied with a woman and tells Erica that he will come and get her
the
next day. Erica takes a room for the night and the Inn staff are wonderful,
strange and creepy but maybe friendly.
I really, really didn't want anything bad happen to this actress as
she felt so alive and vulnerable. She's removing her make-up in the
nude and she
eats a sandwich. Please let her live, please! That's a strange emotion
when watching a giallo, and as it's a giallo she gets butchered, what
else?
Giorgio arrives the next day and finds that Erica is
gone and he starts sleuthing around in the village, and finally he goes
to the Villa Eleonora
where Edmondo Parissi (Francisco Cortéz) lives with his wife
Eleonora (Halina Zalewska) and their niece Sara (Elena Veronese).
Edmondo is a photographer and many of his models have disappeared and
he invites Giorgio for dinner and stay for the night. Giorgio then
snoops around and chases the sexy maid Lucia (Gabriella Giorgelli) and
we have also professor Stefanelli (Richard Fielding) and The Case of
the Camera which can photograph people's thoughts.
The film is presented in widescreen 1.85:1 and with
spanish audio DTS-HD MA 2.0 with english subtitles, region all.
