This is a supernice 3 disc collection from US ADV Films of the
13 episodes in this great and must see series
anamorphic widescreen, 5.1 japanese with english subs
Story: Mutated humans, called Diclonius are
hunted by humans and killed as children, but some specimens are kept in high-security
prisons/science labs and experimented on. Why? They have tremendous telekinetic
powers with invisible extra hands called vectors
and they're filled with great rage against humanity, and literally rips people
to pieces in blood-orgies whenever they can, even their own
parents. Diclonis can be spotted with their 2 outgrowths on their heads, 2 horns
resembling cat ears, somewhat cute maybe.
In episode 1 (A Chance Encounter) we're off with a BIG BANG
indeed, when the specimen Lucy (voice: Sanae Kobayashi) flees
from
her prison in an astounding blood-bath, and then emerges naked on the beach
in a coastal city in front of two teenagers (17-18 or so),
Kohta (voice: Chihiro Suzuki) and his cousin Yuka (voice: Mamiko Noto). Murderous
Lucy suffers from schizophrenia, and her infantile
sweet personality Nyu is the one presenting herself now, and Kohta and Yuka
decides to protect her from her hunters.
Then there's battles with soldiers and the other vector-girl, the tormented
but likeable # 7 - Nana (voice: Yuki Matsuka) and the runaway
girl, sexually abused Mayu gets a home at Kohta's place. Also there's the evil
professor Kakusawa, the somewhat likeable Papa/Kurama
and his evil govermental boss, Kakusawa, Sr. What happened 8 years ago, that
festival day? What happened to Kohta's sister Kanae?
We have multiple flashbacks, extreme violence, romance, love, sorrow, beautiful
animation and fine japanese voices in, for me at least, the
most fascinating anime-series i've ever seen. An intro with jugend paintings
and a great gregorian chant song - Lilium, an then an outro song
in the best possible japanese power pop style - Be Your Girl performed by charming
Chieko Kawabe. Required viewing this is!
